Milton Allen's Obituary
Milton Allen, age 83, passed away at home, Friday evening, September 2, 2011 following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on May 18, 1928 the third of five children to Louis M. and Bernice (Sibary) Allen. Milton enlisted into the U.S. Army on April 23, 1946 and served his country with the U.S. occupation forces in Germany until December 22, 1948. While serving his country in Germany, he met and then married on November 26, 1948 the former Lilo Jablonski in Regensburg, Germany. Lilo preceded Milton in death on December 7, 2006. Returning home, Milton and Lilo started the Milton Allen Construction Co. Mr. Allen was one of the first contractors in Michigan to obtain a state builders license (#003). The Allen’s co-owned and operated the company for 50 years, retiring in 2000. Over the years, they donated much of their time and materials to many different causes, including the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and the VFW Post 3734 where Milt was a life member and served as past commander. He is survived by: 6 children, Steven (Pat) Allen of Muskegon, Michael Allen of Williamston, MI, Dennis Allen of Fruitport, Patricia (Jeff) Noble of Walled Lake, MI, Suzanne (Jerry) Prell of Muskegon and Robert (Angie Smith) Allen of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Chris (Missy) Allen, Tammy (Terry) Lippincott, Nicholle Noble, Brittany Noble, Jeffery Noble, Robert Prell & Nathan Prell; 3 great-grandchildren, Erica, Jazzman & Andrew; one great-great granddaughter, Isabella; and a sister, Lillian (Allen) Arcioni of Auburn, IN. In accordance to Mr. Allen’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service with family will be held at a later date.
