Milton W. " Bill" Dake's Obituary
Mr. Milton Wm. “Bill” Dake, age 84, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 with his wife of 58 years, Marie (Church) Dake, and his children at his side. He was born in Fremont, MI to George and Ada (Matthews) Dake. He proudly fought for our country in WWII in Africa, Sicily, and Italy, serving for 30 months overseas without a single leave home. He was a member of Carpenters Local #100 for 56 years, retiring from Alstrom Construction in 1982, and then became a Florida Snowbird for the next 22 years. Bill enjoyed boating, traveling, storytelling, and spending time with friends and family. SURVIVING him are his children: Randy (Barb) Dake, Sheila (Phil) Munroe, and Cindy (Dave) Doyle. Siblings: George (Mary) Dake, Garnet Reed, and Cloe Kuehneman. Grandchildren: David (Annette) Munroe, Daniel (Dawn) Munroe, Michelle (Ross) Burke, Steve Arnouts, Jeff Pearce, Jessica Dake, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Pearce, great-granddaughter, Samantha Munroe, and brother, Carl Dake. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2004 at McGraft Memorial Congregational Church with long-time friend, Rev. Gerald Wahr officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. MEMORIALS to Hospice of Michigan will be appreciated.
