Mrs. Minnie Buter's Obituary
Mrs. Minnie Buter, age 91, passed away Monday evening, August 5, 2019. Minnie was born August 28, 1927 in Jenison, MI to Gerrit and Mayme (Kloosterman) DeJager. She married Arthur Louis Buter on May 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1997. Minnie worked for many years as a secretary at Electric Equipment and Supply and later at East Muskegon Roofing until her retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting; and had a wonderful antique glass collection. She enjoyed watching televised sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. Minnie was loved and her memory will be cherished by her children, Douglas (Kathleen) Buter of Saginaw, Kathleen (William) Young and Roger (Amy) Buter, all of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to Art, Minnie was also preceded in death by her brother, Ira DeJager; and sister, Janet Pothoff. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd., with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. Visitation will be from 3-4 PM at the church. Burial will take place in Laketon Township Cemetery.
