Minnie E. Zuidema's Obituary
Mrs. Minnie E. (Weesies) Zuidema, age 95, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 1, 2005. She was born June 4, 1910 in Montague, Michigan to Edward and Elizabeth Weesies. Minnie was the 11th of 13 children. She had four sisters and eight brothers. She graduated from Montague High School in 1929. On June 2, 1933, she married Albert H. Zuidema at her parent’s home in Montague and had lived in Muskegon since that date. Minnie was employed by the Weesies Brothers Farms for many years and retired from the Muskegon Public Schools. She was a member of the Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church and its Ladies Societies for over 70 years. She served on the Bazaar and Banquet Committees for the Muskegon Christian Schools. Minnie had a love for gardening and her yard was always a tribute to this love. She was a loving and kind Mother, Grandmother, friend and neighbor. She is survived by her children, son, Dr. Marvin Zuidema and wife Virginia of Grand Rapids and Muskegon; daughter, Ruth and husband Jack Kroeze of Twin Lake and daughter, Jean and husband Douglas Vanderlaan of Holland; Grandchildren, LaVonne (Kent) Folkema, Roger (Tamara Zuidema, Kevin (Maria) Zuidema, Laurie (Dale) Lubbers, Kent (Gina) Vanderlaan, D. Kelly (Kristin) Vanderlaan; ten Great Grandchildren, Kyle, Kara, Amber Folkema, Lance, Ashley, Paige, Annalise, and Elena Zuidema, Adam and Jacob Lubbers, and Noah Vanderlaan; her sister, Ruth (Weesies) Wissmann; and several sisters and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Zuidema; Granddaughters, Dawn and Barbara Zuidema, Julie Kroeze and Great Granddaughter, Amanda K. Folkema. A celebration of the wonderful life that God had given Minnie and the joy she has given others will be held at the Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church (695 Allen Ave.) on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev.
