Minnie "Min" Lubbers' Obituary
Mrs. Minnie “Min” Lubbers, age 87, passed away Monday evening, September 1, 2008. She was born October 30, 1920 in New Era, MI to John and Minnie (TenBrink) Pranger and had lived in Muskegon since 1937. Mrs. Lubbers worked for Hackley Hospital and Bos Floral. She was a member of Fifth Reformed Church for 65 years. On June 23, 1939 she married Elmer “Al” Lubbers and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1994. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Sharon Johnson, Judy (Steve) Pierce both of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Ruth Lubbers of North Muskegon; 4 grandsons, Rick Lubbers of North Muskegon, Scott (Stephanie) Lubbers of Muskegon, Tighe (Tracy) Pierce of Grand Rapids, Brett (Kerri) Pierce of Muskegon; great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Lubbers of Muskegon; sister, Johanna VanderSlice of New Era; sister-in-law, Gloria Pranger of New Era; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Alvin “Al” Lubbers on April 3, 2004; 3 sisters, Ann, Jen, Jeannette; and 4 brothers, John, Tom, Gary, and Jess. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Fifth Reformed Church with Rev. Norman Swier and Rev. Jim Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100.
