M. Josephine "Jo" Demler's Obituary
Mrs. M. Josephine “Jo” Demler, age 98, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2010. She was born in Muskegon on October 21, 1911 to Nelson and Anna (Schmitt) Secord and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. Demler had worked at Clarke Flooring before her retirement in 1976. She was an avid volunteer for many local organizations including Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Kitchen of Hope, Christian Community Center and Love, INC. Jo was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and had attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a devout catholic serving as Eucharistic Minister and greeter and was the oldest member of Catholic Daughters. Jo loved her family and she enjoyed playing cards and bowling. She is survived by two children, Marlene (Joseph) Carter of Lexington, SC and Christopher (Christine) Demler of Weidman, MI; 10 grandchildren, Lori Ann Love, Robbie Demler, Marianne Pfeiffer, Colleen Repke, Kathleen Berg, Julianne Arseneau, Michael Pickel, Andrea Pickel, Rick Zietlow and Beth McCaskey and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Carl Demler; four children, Mary Ann Demler, Nelson Demler, Mary Lynn Pickel and Jean Catherine Zietlow; her parents; three brothers and three sisters. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Francis de Sales – Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Anton Tran presiding. VISITATION will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at
