Mona H. (Gordon) Garzelloni's Obituary
Mona H. (Gordon) Garzelloni, age 90, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at American House Living Center in Spring Lake. She was born July 5, 1929 in Nunica, MI to Richard and Laura (Baldus) Gordon. She was the valedictorian of the Coopersville High School Class of 1947. Mona married Frank J. Garzelloni, Sr. on June 23, 1951 in Nunica and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2009. Mona was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where she volunteered for many years serving for funeral luncheons. Mona enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and quilting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of the West Michigan Herb Society. Survivors include 7 children, Paula VandenBosch, Thomas (Marisue) Garzelloni, Nilda (Dove) DoVale, Daniel (Barbara) Garzelloni, Tina (Bob) Versaw, Maria (Troy) Pashak, Frank J. (Kristi) Garzelloni, Jr.; 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Garzelloni, Sr., grandson, Mark VandenBosch, great-grandson, Drew Steven Grasman, her parents and 3 brothers, Douglas, Donald and Richard “Dick” Gordon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth St.) with the Rev. Fr. Phillip A. Sliwinski presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441 where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to Muskegon Right to Life, Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation, or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
