Mordine Tanner's Obituary
Mrs. Mordine Tanner, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was born in Columbus, MS on October 23, 1946 to J.B. Sanders and Alberta Evans. Mordine later moved to Muskegon MI and became a life-long resident of the area. She enjoyed playing bingo, socializing with friends, playing cards, fashion, fishing, spreading the love to her community, and being around her family. She accepted Christ at an early age. Mordine is survived by her children, Julius (Sandra K) Evans, Gloria (Azeezuddin) Aluqdah Leslie (Larry- deceased) Parker, Jacqulyn (Freddie) Green-Tate, Robin Green, Angela Evans, Kenneth Green, Kimberly Green, Tanesha Green, 36 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Sam Turner, Willie Lee Turner, Charlie (JoAnn) Turner, Jimmy and Frank Anthony; sisters, Juliet (Raymond) Johnson, Bessie Pearl (Jack) Moore, Vera Anderson, Carolyn Sherrod and Evelyn Sherrod; special grandson, Anthony (Wheatie) Stewart Jr; special aunt, Susie Coleman; special niece, Katie McMillon, special friends, Johnnie J Richardson Daryl King and Vanessa Weakly, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and the Big Red family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Johnnie Lee Sanders, two sisters, Maxine Patterson, and Hattie Sanders; grandson Melvin Bonner II; grandson, Amond Evans Hathorn. A PUBLIC VISITATION for Mordine will be held from 4PM-7PM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is allowed 25 guests in the building at a time. As people pay their respects to the family and exit the building, more guests will be allowed in. Masks will be required. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Fresh Anointing COGIC,1121 Jefferson St, Muskegon, MI 49440 with Pastor Kevin McCloud, Jr. and Pastor Kenneth Sims officiating. BURIAL will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to family. Please visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
