Mozelle Lillian Heer's Obituary
Mrs. Mozelle L. Heer, age 83, passed away early Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Golden Years assisted living residence. She was born to Carl and Bessie (Lewis) Hennings, June 15, 1926 in Southern Pines, North Carolina. They moved to Muskegon Heights, where she was raised and attended school. On March 12, 1948, she married Russell M. Heer, who preceded her in death on February 21, 2008. Mozelle volunteered in the gift shop at Mercy Hospital for many years. She was an active member of First Congregational Church of Fruitport. She enjoyed square dancing, knitting, mushroom hunting and spending quality time with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly. SURVIVORS include: son, Paul R. Heer of Muskegon; daughter, Cyndi L. Stewart and fiance’ Doug VanDyken of Fruitport; three loving grandchildren, Randy and Kevin Stewart and Paige Heer; sister, Joyce Pascoe; sister-in-law, Lois Hennings and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Arnold Hennings. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Fruitport, 3212 Pontaluna Rd. VISITATION will be Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. She will be laid to rest in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
