Mr. Marion "Lee" Jones' Obituary
Mr. Marion “Lee” Jones, age 85, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Grand Haven. He was born on September 18, 1928 to Ollie and Marie (Huston) Jones in Collinsville, OK. Lee served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, and was involved with the Lake Michigan United Methodist Summer Camp in Pentwater, MI. Lee was a Master Gardener, and volunteered many hours at the Monet Gardens in downtown Muskegon. He was the owner of Applied Instruments, Inc. in N. Muskegon until his retirement in 1990. On December 8, 1950, he married the former Dolores Holcomb, and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2013. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Jackie (Paul) Twa of Spring Lake and Larry (Diane) Jones of Norton Shores; 4 grandchildren, Brad (Julie) Jones, Shane (Angie) Zander, Carmen (Willis) Goodenough, and Tracie (Andy) Kreps; step-grandchildren, Nathan (Tiffany) Twa and Brandon Twa; and 14 great grandchildren. Lee was also preceded in death by his infant son, Michael. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11AM Monday, February 17 at Community United Methodist Church (1614 Ruddiman Dr. N. Muskegon) with Pastor Phillip Friedrick officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7PM Sunday, February 16 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100.
