Mr. Arnold A. VerHulst's Obituary
Mr. Arnold A. VerHulst, age 79, of Norton Shores, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on October 5, 1931 to Cornelius and Gladys (Green) VerHulst. Mr. VerHulst had been employed by Mona Shores Schools as a custodian before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed watching the Tigers, Cubs and Redwings play and loved music, especially big band music and Glenn Miller. He was especially fond of his travels, both national and international, with his wife, Betty. On June 7, 1958, Arnold married the former Elizabeth A. “Betty” Keller and she preceded him in death on October 19, 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Debby VerHulst; brother, Alba (Diane) VerHulst of Modesto, CA; sister-in-law, Lila VerHulst and special “sisters”, Louise Wilde, Harriet Cole, Margie Deming and Carol Peterson. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lyle, Bob, Victor and Lewis VerHulst and five sisters, Violet Medendorp, Vera “Bea” Goodrich, Vivian VerHulst, Gladys “Sally” VerHulst and Donna VerHulst. SERVICES will be 11:00AM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Bvld. 231-759-8565 with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8PM Monday at the funeral home. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
