Mr. Chester "Sarge" "Bud" Scofield's Obituary
Mr. Chester “Bud” “Sarge” Scofield, age 79, passed away Saturday morning, October 29, 2005. He was born on April 23, 1926 in Muskegon and was a life resident. Mr. Scofield was a Veteran of the United States Marines serving in WWII, the Pacific Theatre, where he received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries incurred on Iwo Jima, and was retired from the Michigan National Guard. Bud was retired from Brunswick Corporation. He was a Life member of the VFW Post 446, the American Legion, the Marine Corp. League, and the Disabled American Veterans. Bud was an avid golfer and bowler, and loved to gamble. On April 22, 1950, he married the former Katherine Schmitt, and she preceded him in death as well as his son, Michael Jacob. He is survived by 3 daughters, Susan (Mike) Vallie, Sharon (Tom) Duff, Debra (Mike) Strandberg; 5 grandchildren, Gretchen, Adam, Jacob, Katherine, Noah; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and the entire Schmitt family. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ernest J. Bernott presiding. VISITATION will be 4:30-7:30PM Sunday at

with a SCRIPTURE SERVICE at 7PM. INTERMENT will take place in St. Anthony Cemetery with full Military Rites.
