Mr. Cornelius "Casey" Doornbos' Obituary
Mr. Cornelius “Casey” Doornbos, age 86, passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2009 at his home. He was born in Muskegon on July 21, 1922 to John and Hilje (Klooster) Doornbos and was a life resident of the area. Casey was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He had been employed by Anderson Bolling until his retirement in 1981. Casey was a member of Olivet Reformed Church for over 50 years and a life-member of VFW Post #3734. He was an avid gardener, golfer and bowler. On October 7, 1949, Casey married the former Angeline Lintjer and she survives him along with 3 children, Marjorie (James) McAlinden, Larry Doornbos and Paul (Donna) Doornbos; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Derek and Kaycee; 3 step-grandchildren, Ronnette, Richard, Daniel; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Derk Doornbos and 2 sisters, Ann (Stan) Stephens and Frieda Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Otto and Henry Doornbos. SERVICES will be 11AM Thursday at Olivet Reformed Church (2018 Shettler Rd.) with Rev. Russell K. Camp officiating.
