Mr. David A. Ogborn, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. David A. “Oggie” Ogborn, Sr., age 61, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Saturday evening, October 10, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Muskegon on June 22, 1948 to Kenneth J. and Doris J. (Pennell) Ogborn and had lived in the area all of his life. Mr. Ogborn was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. He had worked for Sealed Power/Dana Corporation for many years before his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the VFW Post #7729, the Fremont H.O.G. Chapter and he attended Shiloh Tabernacle Church. Dave enjoyed life, loved his 5 precious granddaughters, and had a variety of interests that he enjoyed. On March 30, 1968, he married the former Lizabeth “Beth” Luckett and she survives him along with 2 children, David A. Ogborn, Jr. (Wanda) and Jodi Pinter (Rusty); 5 granddaughters, Brittany Ogborn, Makayla, Samantha and Shaylin Pinter and Averie Alan Ogborn-White; 1 brother, Scott (Diane) Ogborn; 3 sisters, Barbara (Terri) Ogborn, DeDe (Jim) Videtich and Kathy (Rob) Kibbey; 1 sister-in-law, Iva Ogborn; many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Ronald Ogborn. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM Friday, October 16, 2009 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Verne Wright officiating. VISITATION will be from 3-5 & 7-9PM Thursday. MEMORIALS in Dave’s name may be made to his family to help defer funeral expenses.
