Mr. Donald W. Ritter, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Donald W. Ritter, Sr., age 89, passed away Saturday morning, February 18, 2006. He was born in Muskegon on July 19, 1916 and was a life resident. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in the South Pacific during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was employed by Bennett Pump for 35 years before retiring in 1980. Donald was a very active charter member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church where he served as Deacon, Elder, and taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Red Arrow 32nd Division, and the Don Rae VFW Post 8846. Donald was an avid square dancer and golfer. Mr. Ritter married the former Frances C. Cihak on July 19, 1946. They spent 50 loving years of marriage together, the last 22 wintering in New Port Richey, FL. Frances preceded him in death on August 27, 2001. He is survived by 3 children, Carolyn (Thomas) Selander, Donald Ritter, Jr., and Mary Redding; 2 grandchildren, Jeff (Jaime) Selander and Adam Redding; 3 brothers, Charles (Beverly) Ritter, Walter (Jean) Ritter and Rev. Gerald (Wanda) Ritter and 2 sisters, Gloria Price and Joyce Odell. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Robert Ritter, Sr. SERVICES will be 11AM Tuesday at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION will be from 4-8PM tonight at
