Mr. Ferrell K. Smith's Obituary
Mr. Ferrell K. Smith, age 90, passed away Saturday morning, January 6, 2007 in Grand Haven. He was born May 17, 1916 to Ferry and Nellie (Conaway) Smith in Whitehall, MI, and had been a life resident of the Muskegon area. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in WWII. He had been employed by Kaydon Corporation as an engineer for 28 years before retiring in 1978. Mr. Smith was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, a former member of the Lakeside Eagles, and a member of the West Michigan Senior Bowling League. He loved to sing and often sang at church services and weddings. On December 18, 1937, Ferrell married the former Abbie L. Whitney, and together they shared 68 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on July 22, 2006. He is survived by 1 daughter, Theryn “Terri” (Gary) Hart of Zephyrhills, FL; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Faith) Falkowski, Cami (Craig) Plattner, Kelly (Roger) Cook, Casey Rundquist; and 7 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Clyde, Robert and Leon Smith; and 3 sisters, Leah Cleveland, Nellie Barnhard and Louise Bartlett.
