Mr. Ford O. Steele's Obituary
Mr. Ford O. Steele, age 87, passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2010 in Norton Shores. He was born November 25, 1923 in Gaylord, MI, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1968. Mr. Steele worked for Consumers Power Company spanning 3 decades before retiring in 1978, and was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and generally puttering around. On May 3, 1947 he married Dorothy May Urbanski. She preceded him in death on December 15, 1996. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Thomas (Cheryl) Steele of Ada, Robert (Jane) Steele of Belding, Nancy Steele of Germany, Ronald (Haviland) Steele of Virginia; 12 grandchildren, Mary Dickerson, Veronica Helm, Robert Steele, Brittany Curtis, Thomas Steele, Nancy Kate Steele, Jefferson, Grant, Taylor, Carter, McKinley, and Madison Steele; 6 great-grandchildren; his loving companion of 12 years, Dorcella Douglas. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 the Rev. Fr. Julian Reginato presiding.
