Mr. Frank M. LaVasseur's Obituary
Mr. Frank M. LaVasseur, age 66, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born in Leelanau, MI on January 11, 1943 to George W. and Anna S. (Sidock) LaVasseur, Sr. Mr. LaVasseur was a truck driver for Mill Creek Motor Freight before retiring in 2003. He loved spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, golfing, or driving his 1955 Chevy truck that he restored. He also enjoyed camping, and was a board member of the Leisure Haven Camp Ground. On July 8, 1961, he married the former Judy Isley and she survives him along with 3 children, Theresa M. Fowler, Frank A. LaVasseur and Anna M. (Steve) Cook; 7 grandchildren, Steve A. Cook, Dana Fowler, Felicia Cook, Matthew Fowler, Heather Woodworth, Nathan L. LaVasseur, Cameron L. LaVasseur; 4 great-grandchildren and the 5th great-grandchild due in February of 2010 and 1 brother, George W. (Norma) LaVasseur, Jr. A CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held at 3PM Friday, July 24, 2009 at Blue Lake Community Church (1098 Blue Lake Road, Holton, MI 49421).
