Mr. Gerald S. "Jerry" Kandalec's Obituary
Mr. Gerald S. “Jerry” Kandalec, age 56, passed away Sunday morning, December 23, 2007 at his home in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on November 16, 1951 to Andrew and Irene (Takats) Kandalec and was a life resident of the area. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in Vietnam. He had been self employed as an underwater welder and a contractor and was an avid hunter. On August 4, 2000, Jerry married the former Kimm Berglund and she survives him along with daughters, Katherine Kandalec and Elizabeth (Camron) Dinger; 1 step-son, Chas (Natalie) Hibbard; 2 granddaughters, Madeline and Kendall; 1 brother, Richard Kandalec; 1 sister, Kathleen (Steven) Maus; nieces and nephews, Andy (Kate) Maus, Dana (Bill) Maus-Martin, Julie (Nate) Heinrich, Jason Kandalec; great niece and nephew, Lillian and William; special friends, Bethlee and Cori Taylor and hunting buddies, John, Mike, Bob, Larry and Howie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Paula Kandalec. A gathering of family and friends in memory of Jerry will be held from 2PM – 5PM Thursday at Hagars Hideaway (3156 Lakeshore Dr.) with MILITARY HONORS performed at 3PM under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council.
