Mr. Gilbert Leroy Larson's Obituary
Mr. Gilbert Leroy Larson, age 79, passed away Thursday evening, January 14, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born in Muskegon, MI on July 25, 1930 to Wilfred E. and Marguerite M. (DeWitte) Larson and was a life resident of the area. Mr. Larson was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from Bennett Pump in 1992 after 24 years of employment. Mr. Larson was a Golden Eagle at the Muskegon Heights Eagles and a member of the American Legion – Grand Haven Post. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time on the lake. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Larson; 2 sons, Larry (Clyda) Larson of Montague and Matthew (Tammy) Larson of South Haven; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert Larson and 1 sister, Barbara Meyers. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Rosie Larson and Dorothy Johnson. SERVICES will be 3PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
