Mr. Jacob J. Delis' Obituary
Mr. Jacob J. Delis, age 83, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on June 30, 1924 to Klas and Alice (Oosterhurd) Delis and had been a long-time Muskegon resident. Jacob was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in WWII. He had been employed by Jericki Corporation and Handy Wacks and was a member of the VFW Post #7729 where he was active in the men’s auxiliary. Jacob was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing off the Muskegon pier. He had the opportunity to take 2 Alaskan adventures; one was spent moose hunting and the other was a fly-in fishing trip. Jacob truly enjoyed and cherished both trips. On March 21, 1970, he married the former Bonnie L. Reyburn and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2007. He is survived by 7 children, Estelle Prentice, John (Beth) Delis, Patricia (Michael) Linderman, Jacqueline Lam, Rose (David) Wilder, Lilly Springsdorf, and LaWanda (Brian) Webster; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and his faithful friend, Penny. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Dena Lawson and Tresa Delis and 1 brother, John Delis. SERVICES will be 2PM Friday at
