Mr. James F. "John" Mines' Obituary
Mr. James F. “John” Mines, age 68, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday evening, November 11, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dyersburg, TN on March 30, 1941 to Felix and Bedia (Rodgers) Mines and has lived in the Muskegon area since he was a child. Jim retired from Burnside Manufacturing in 2003 where he was the Tool and Die Supervisor and had previously been employed by Anderson Bolling for 18 years. He was a 3rd degree black belt and spent 10 years teaching martial arts. Jim was affiliated as a coach and volunteer for the Oakridge youth baseball and football programs. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and custom painting cars and motorcycles. Jim had been a member of the Comancheros Motorcycle Club from 1966-1973. In March of 1966, John had met Paula, they fell in love and became soul mates. They married on May 27, 1966 and had 43 wonderful years together. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Paulette “Paula”; 3 sons, James W. (Traci) Mines, Todd M. (Kelly) Mines and Shaun M. Mines; 5 grandchildren, Nick, Derek, Bailey, Dylan and Tyler; 1 brother, Robert (Gwen) Mines; 1 sister, Doris (Mike) Nastase; 2 brothers-in-law, David (Judy) Krol and Steve Dixon and 1 sister-in-law, Sandra Krol. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Gerald Mines and Billy Mines; mother-in-law, Gladys Krol; beloved sister-in-law, Debbie Krol-Dixon and his best friend, Fred Locke.
