Mr. Jean W. Coston's Obituary
Mr. Jean Waverly Coston, age 84, passed away Monday evening, December 19, 2005. He was born in Muskegon on January 7, 1921 to Herbert P. and Alice (DeWitt) Coston, and was a life resident. Jean was employed by Sealed Power for 40 years before retiring in 1981. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder. Jean was a member of Toastmasters Inc., the Muskegon Camera Club, the Industrial Management Club, and a former member of the Elks. He loved photography, woodworking, and was an avid reader. On June 28, 1941, he married the former Lila L. Corning and she survives him along with 4 children, Carole-Jean (Kim) Thedorff Kolberg, Pamela Joan Brouhard of Portage, MI, Joel L. Coston, Sr., and Kevin J. (Robin) Coston of Owosso, MI; 11 grandchildren, Todd, Trevor (Shannon), Troy (Tammy), Aimee, Bethany, Joel Jr., Jordan, Connor, Matthew, Megan and Ryan; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Elaine Zimmerman of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11AM Friday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Halde officiating. MEMORIALS in Mr. Coston’s name may be made to Every Woman’s Place, Muskegon Rescue Mission or to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
