Mr. Lawrence L. Rabe's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence L. Rabe, age 83, passed away Thursday evening, August 16, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born in Benona Township on February 22, 1924 to Carl and Anna (Dzur) Rabe, was raised in Shelby, and moved to Muskegon in 1950. Lawrence was a life long pattern maker and was a volunteer fireman for Muskegon Township. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking, and was very proud to have built the home he raised his children in. Lawrence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. On August 24, 2002, Lawrence married the former Florette Serene and she survives him along with his former wife and mother of his children, Hazel I. Gill; 4 children, Claudia (Richard) Liver of Florida, Joyce Melendez, Donald Rabe, Darlene (Robert) Kerr of California; 3 granddaughters, Sarah (Mike) Peklar, Anna (Chris) Terryn, Helena (Derek) Mahoney; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Edgar (Delores) Rabe of South Dakota and Harold (Irene) Rabe of Shelby. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elmer and Lester Rabe and 3 sisters-in-law, Carol, Velda, and Gwen Rabe. SERVICES will be 11AM Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church (3235 Roosevelt Rd., Muskegon, MI) with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske and Rev. Nicholas Fuller officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4PM & 6-8PM Sunday at
