Mr. Mark Dennis Smith's Obituary
Mr. Mark Dennis Smith, age 62, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his home in Norton Shores. He was born in Muskegon on December 14, 1948 to Morton and Dale (Pfenning) Smith and was a life resident of the area. Mark was a veteran of the United States Marines and had been employed by Challenge Machine for 25 years. He attended St. Mark Lutheran Church with his wife and enjoyed vacationing in northern Minnesota. On June 19, 1976, he married the former Minda L. VanNoordwyk and she survives him along with 2 children, Mark (Brandi) Smith and Mellisa (Scott) Steinhauer; 2 step-children, Richard Wilson and Timothy (Trudy Jean) Wilson; 11 grandchildren; 1 brother, James (Rhonda) Smith; 3 sisters, Jill Galloway, Gail Smith and Rebecca (David) Stolarz; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth VanNoordwyk and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES will be 1:00PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION will be from 12-1PM Monday. INTERMENT will be in Norton Cemetery.
