I'd seen Mr. Thompson a number of times at church in Mattawan. A big man, with a gentle, kind spirit. Deb had provided a picture of her father for our Memorial Day services. I wasn't aware of his WWII South Pacific duty as part of the "Greatest Generation", but am very thankful for his service. To the Thompson family - Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in your lives. I enjoyed so much meeting Orla and some of his family. It was a privilege to be a part of his care while he was here at Metron of Allegan. I looked forward to seeing him again this past Sunday but it was not to be. He was so lucky to have such a loving, supportive family while he was ill. Not everyone is so lucky. May God grant you the peace that you will need to get through this time in your lives.
