Mrs. Alice R. Schottey's Obituary
Mrs. Alice R. Schottey, age 95, passed away Sunday morning, March 29, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on October 6, 1913 to Roy and Pearl (Persing) Strevel and had been a life resident. She married Harry Schottey on March 3, 1935. Mrs. Schottey was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and the Charity Circle ; the Genesis Chapter of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary Goodwill Industries. She enjoyed spending time with family, sewing, knitting and baking, especially cookies which she gave to friends and family. She is survived by 2 children, William A. Schottey of Norton Shores and Mary Alice Clapp of Denver, CO; 3 grandchildren, Steven Clapp of Denver, CO, Susan (Steve) Bredehoeft of Centennial, CO and Jill (Robert) Plank of Hesperia; 2 great-grandchildren, Carli and Caleb Plank; 1 sister-in-law, Eva Strevel of Davenport, IA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in March of 1992; her parents; 1 brother, Roy Strevel; 2 sisters, Florence Irwin and Virginia Page and 2 grandsons, Douglas and Daniel Schottey. SERVICES will be 1PM Thursday at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Rev. David A. Selleck officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Schottey’s name may be made to Lakeside United Methodist Church.
