Mrs. Anita Barbara Messner's Obituary
Mrs. Anita Barbara Messner, age 91, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2009 at her son’s home in Muskegon. She was born in Lake Linden, MI on February 19, 1918 to Mathew and Augusta (Faller) Kohlmeier and had lived in the Muskegon area since 1939. Mrs. Messner was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, VFW Post #3195 and was a chairperson for the election board for 50 years. She loved playing cards, reading and crocheting. She is survived by 1 son, David (Donna) Messner of Muskegon; 2 daughters-in-law, Carol Messner of Twin Lake and Ann Messner of Winter Haven, FL; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen Lahti of Mt. Clements, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Messner; 2 sons, Kenneth Messner and Gerald Messner; her parents and 1 brother. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. VISITATION will be from 3-5 & 6-8PM Tuesday at
