Mrs. Charlotte E. Holmberg's Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte E. Holmberg, age 95, passed away Monday morning, December 14, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on January 12, 1914 to Joseph and Tressa (Wormbrand) Freye and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. Holmberg was a registered nurse at Hackley Hospital before she retired in 1980 and was a charter member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church. On March 2, 1937, Charlotte married Gordon Holmberg, Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1962. She is survived by 4 children, Richard (Delores) of Fremont, Carol of Hudsonville, Robert (Carole) of New Era and Charles (Debra) of Muskegon; 1 daughter-in-law, Connie Holmberg of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by 1 son, Gordon Holmberg, Jr.; 1 granddaughter, Joann Holmberg; her parents and 4 brothers. SERVICES will be 11AM Thursday at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church with Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. VISITATION will be 1-hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Holmberg’s name may be made to Lake Harbor UMC or American Cancer Society.
