Mrs. Charlotte L. Rusch's Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte L. Rusch, age 84, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born in Tomah, WI on June 7, 1925 to Alvin and Tressie Mae (Fuller) Hughes and has lived in Muskegon for 63 years. Mrs. Rusch served Muskegon Township for 38 years as treasurer, trustee and planning committee member before retiring in 2007. She was a long-time member of Hope Reformed Church where she served as elder, usher and on many other committees. Mrs. Rusch was a member of the Mercy Auxiliary and volunteered at both Mercy and Hackley Hospitals and the Frauenthal Center. On June 23, 1946, Charlotte married Donald G. “Duke” Rusch and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1987. She is survived by 6 children, Charlene (Larry) Howard, Debby (Keith) Rubley, Donna (Stephen) Lee, Rayora (Kevin) Spray, Paul (Sue) Rusch and Dee Dee Rusch (fiancé, Ralph Betancourt); 29 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ethel (Howard) Rohr, Elsie (Joe) Balsamo and Dorothy (Richard) Borchardt and 2 sister-in-law’s, Ellen Price and Marge Hansen. In addition to her husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Hugh and Robert Hughes. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 3PM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Hope Reformed Church (1878 Evanston Ave.) with Rev. Steven Hyma officiating. VISITATION will be from 1-3PM Thursday prior to the service at church. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Rusch’s name may be made to Sanctuary at the Park or Hope Reformed Church.
