Mrs. Dorothy Mae Marceau's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Marceau, age 98, passed into her Heavenly Father’s arms on Saturday, July 04, 2009 in Muskegon. She was born in Oceana County on May 8, 1911 to Asaph L. and Cora (Cook) Hessel and has lived in Muskegon since she was a child. Mrs. Marceau graduated from Muskegon High School and Hackley School of Nursing. She worked at Hackley Hospital as a Registered Nurse until she retired. Mrs. Marceau was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Michigan Nurses Association. On May 23, 1936, she married Leo J. Marceau and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1989. She is survived by 2 grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Mann of Muskegon and William (Michelle) Cross of Norton Shores; 4 great-grandchildren, Taehler West, Greyson and Emmett Cross and Alexa Mann and her family at Bush Creek Manor. In addition to her husband Leo, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Cross in 1999; 3 brothers, Lyle, Bernard and Claire Hessel and 3 sisters, Doris Meier, Velma Valk and June Carlson.
