Mrs. Eleraine "Bunny" Higgins' Obituary
On October 1, 2006 Bunny was surrounded by her family as our loving creator welcomed her home. Eleraine was born on September 12, 1938 to Adelaide (Beauchamp) and Bernie Duff in Muskegon. Bunny loved life and the beauty and cloudiness that goes with it. She particularly loved small children, rainbows, thunderstorms, the Detroit Lions, Birds, Music and most people she met. Bunny graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1955 retired after 25 years with GTE and 17 years with the RCIA at ST. Francis DeSales, Bunny was past president of the GTE/Verizon retiree’s group, was very active in her church, organized and ran her family’s reunions, and started and pursued the history of her family whom she dearly loved. She leaves behind until she can welcome them, her loved and loving children: Mary (Daryle) Conran, Dave Higgins, and Lori (Margo) Higgins. Her loved sisters and brothers, Rosemary Kellogg (Gene Thorsen), Marlyn (Jerry) Kraus, Priscilla (Bob) Gross, Bernie (Susanna) Duff, John (Bobbi) Duff, Pat (Lois) Duff, Mary Facchini (Andy Szmalech), Amy (Bernie) Robart, and Paul (Karen) Duff. Grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Brennan, Jared, Tim, and Andy Higgins, and Meghan Conran. Three step grandchildren, Jason Conran, Cat Card and Ken Campbell. Also, many dear friends, nieces and nephews, her aunts Elizabeth Olsen and Hazel Duff and her ex-husband and good friend, Herbert Higgins. Bunny and her family would like to extend a special thanks to Rebecca Kelm for all of her help and support.
THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11AM Saturday, October 7, 2006 at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel with Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding.
