Mrs. Elizabeth A. "Betty" VerHulst's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth A. VerHulst, age 82, of Norton Shores, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on February 17, 1928 to William and Margaret (Crotty) Keller, Sr. and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. VerHulst graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1947 and then worked at G.T.E. as a telephone operator for 38 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, watching the news, playing cards and playing Skip-Bo on Nintendo DS. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. On June 7, 1958, Betty married Arnold VerHulst and he survives her along with their daughter, Debby VerHulst; one brother, William Keller, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews and two special nieces, Joyce Brown and Mary Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, one half-brother and 2 half-sisters. SERVICES will be 11AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. VISITATION will be from 6:00 – 8:00PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in Mrs. VerHulst’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
