Mrs. Evelyn A. Buthker's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn A. Buthker, age 83, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2007. Mrs. Buthker was born October 28, 1923 to Bert and Gertrude (Medendorp) Hoeksema in Muskegon and was a life resident of the area. Prior to working with her husband at Muskegon Floral, she worked at Sealed Power and J.C. Penney. She was a longtime member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church, had volunteered many hours at Muskegon Christian School, and had been very involved with the banquets at Western Michigan Christian High School. On June 20, 1947 she married Fred Buthker in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include her husband , Fred; her children, Pam Buthker, William (Jane) Buthker, both of Muskegon; 3 grandsons, Joseph, Andrew, and Alex Buthker; 3 brothers, Jay (Edith) Hoeksema of AZ, Marvin (Mildred) Hoeksema, Dr. Ronald (Lieschen) Hoeksema, both of Muskegon; 3 sisters, Betty Hoeksema, Delores (Pete) Bishop, Audrey Burgess, all of Muskegon ; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Patrick Buthker; brother,Rev. John Hoeksema; and infant sister, Muriel Hoeksema . SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Bethany Christian Reformed Church with Pastor David Sieplinga officiating. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION at
