Mrs. Helen C. Novak's Obituary
Mrs. Helen C. (Karpinski) Novak went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 20, 2011 at 91 years of age. Helen was born to Andrew and Grace Karpinski on October 18, 1920 in Muskegon MI. After her formal education years at St. Michael's Grade School and Muskegon High School, she met and married Stanley J. “Tucky” Novak on June 1, 1940. During their 55 years of marriage they raised 9 children. Helen was an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church's Altar Society and was a beloved and cherished friend to many of its parishioners. Helen's greatest passion in life was her family for whom she was always present and available. She traveled far and wide to be with her children, whether it was to hold a hand after a motorcycle accident in Texas or to welcome into the world one of her grandchildren. She made a house a home with her positive attitude and beautiful smile. Her words of wisdom in times of any trial were “Well, let's put it in God's hands.” She was known to be a wife, mother and friend with unfading compassion and a gentle and quiet spirit which was very precious to everyone she met. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, brother, Andrew Karpinski, sisters, Sophia Nowak, Jessica Haraburda and Jean Birdsell, two grandchildren and one daughter-in-law. She is survived by her children; Joseph (Barbara) Novak of Traverse City, Thomas Novak of Muskegon, Patricia Schultz of Houston, TX, Margaret Novak of Lansing, Richard (Mary) Novak of Muskegon, William (Judy) Novak of Muskegon, Mary Cherney of Muskegon, Barbara Haynes of Grand Haven and Michelle Bisson of Traverse City, 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
