Mrs. Joan Hoffman, age 66, passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2009. She was born in New England, ND on August 15, 1942 to Harold and Faye (McDonald) Freed. Joan was a lab technician for 26 years at Muskegon County Health Department before retiring in 2003. On January 3, 1964, she married Charles Hoffman and he survives her along with 1 daughter, Renee (Bill) Kooi of Muskegon; 1 grandson, Alex Kooi of Muskegon; 1 brother, Boyd (Judy) Freed of Sheridan, WY; her mother-in-law, Iris Hoffman of Muskegon and 2 nieces.
