Mrs. Kathryn Mae VanVoorthuysen's Obituary
Mrs. Kathryn Mae VanVoorthuysen, age 83, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2007. She was born in Muskegon on May 16, 1924 to Edward E. and Grace (Langeland) Heethuis and was a life resident. On October 17, 1947, Kathryn married Raymond B. VanVoorthuysen and together they shared over 60 years of marriage. Kathryn had been a former co-owner and secretary of VanVoorthuysen Iron Works. She was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where she was active in Bible study. Kathryn volunteered at Hackley Hospital in the surgery waiting room and enjoyed ceramics. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her daughter, Marcia (Glenn) Meeusen of Racine, WI; grandsons, Mark and Eric Meeusen; sister, Harriet Oliver of North Muskegon; and sister-in-law, Verna Heethuis of Jenison, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra VanVoorthuysen; and brothers, Everett and Andrew Heethuis. SERVICES will be 11AM Friday at Calvin CRC with Rev. John Rop officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4PM & 6-8PM today at
