Mrs. Lucy K. Harwood's Obituary
Lucy K. Harwood, born October 4, 1947 in Syracuse, IN to Dorothy (Merley)Kitson and the late Dallas Kitson, died Saturday, July 19, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul D. Jobin in 1988. Lucy graduated from Syracuse High School in Indiana, received a bachelors degree and teaching licensure from Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis), and had many hours of graduate study from Grand Valley State University where she received licensure in special education. Lucy lived in West Michigan for nearly 40 years where she was a dedicated teacher. She was an avid gardener, traveler, and nature enthusiast. Lucy is survived by her mother in Syracuse, IN; her husband, the Rev. Dr. James M. Harwood of Muskegon/Whitehall; daughters, Meredith (Matthew) Westerback of Spring Lake, Molly (Darrin Kowitz) Jobin of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Susan Kitson of Goshen, IN; step-son, James (Abbey) Harwood of Muskegon; step-daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Potteiger of Swartz Creek; several grandchildren through marriage; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
