Mrs. Marian A. DeYoung's Obituary
Mrs. Marian A. DeYoung, 87, passed away Friday evening, April 9, 2010 at Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake. Born September 16, 1922 to Henry and Clara Bell (Mattison) Balkema, she married Bernard DeYoung March 29, 1946. Mrs. DeYoung was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church, and had been a member of Bethany's Womens' Fellowship, Bethany Seniors and Circles of Grace. She enjoyed reading and listening to Blue Lake Radio. Her SURVIVORS include her children: Marcia (Dean) Jackson of Eaton Rapids, Allan (Lynn) DeYoung of Grand Haven, David (Shirley) DeYoung of Fruitport, and Jayne (Rich) Wilson of Howard City; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Harold Balkema and Marshall Balkema. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard on Nov. 6, 1997 and by a sister, Bertha Seaver. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St., with Rev. David Sieplinga officiating, and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be an hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Bethany Christian Reformed Church.
