Mrs. Matilda "Tillie" Dawson's Obituary
Mrs. Matilda “Tillie” Dawson, age 95, of Muskegon, formerly of Caro, MI, passed away January 26, 2011 in Muskegon. She was born in Alba, MI on January 1, 1916 to August and Hulda (Kleinfelt) Engel. Mrs. Dawson was a member of Community of Christ Church and was a retired Caro Public Schools secretary. “Our Mom brought much joy into this world with her bright smile and positive outlook. People often described her with one word, “sweet”. We think this sums it up pretty well.” - The “Kids” She is survived by four children, Robert G. (Mary) Dawson, Michael N. (Laurel) Dawson, Marilyn M. (Brace) Case and Debra K. (Doug) Wheaton; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Dawson; her parents; four brothers, Albert, Louis, Ted and Clare Engel and four sisters, Ruth Stephan, Emily Yokom, Margarite Ward and Virginia Myr. SERVICES will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 231-798-1100 with Rev. Jerry Bernhardt officiating. MEMORIALS in Tillie’s name may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice of North Ottawa.
