Mrs. Maxine Ethel VanBemmelen's Obituary
Mrs. Maxine Ethel VanBemmelen, age 88, passed away Friday evening, July 1, 2011. Maxine was born January 16, 1923 in Muskegon to Thomas and Lotta (Hentzell) Kraft. On June 25, 1943, she married Donald VanBemmelen in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2000. Maxine worked at Hackley Hospital for many years as a registered nurse prior to her retirement. She was a member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church. Maxine was a wonderful mother and grandmother and is survived by her 4 children, Thomas VanBemmelen of San Diego, CA, Susan VanBemmelen of Chicago, IL, Dona (John) Morgan of Norton Shores, and Matthew (Peggy) VanBemmelen of Walker, MI; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by her sister June Sicard, and brother Robert Kraft. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Tim VanderHaar officiating. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the University of Michigan Anatomical Donation program or Mercy VNS Hospice.
