Mrs. Phyllis Y. Ferrier's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Ferrier, age 69, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening, April 26, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born on January 30, 1937 in Fayetteville, WV to Hillis and Lillian (Smith) Stout and had been a resident of Muskegon for most of her life. She was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she had also worked in the office. Phyllis enjoyed trips to the casino, sewing, and gardening. On April 16, 1955, she married LaVern J. Ferrier and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1998. She is survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl (Stephen Dinizo) Huizenga of Nashville, TN, Anita (Mark) Gilchrist of Muskegon and Kimberly (Travis) Alt of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Mark (Lindsey) of East Haddam, CT, Randall (Haley) Phillips of Nashville, TN, Jeremy (Tammy) Gilchrist of Muskegon, Traci (Shawn) Koch of Chesterfield, MI, Brandy (Kurtiss DeWeerdt) Hutson of Muskegon and Daniel Alt of Muskegon; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way and 1 brother, Hillis R “Jeavy” Stout of Inverness, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. The FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11AM Monday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Phillip Witkowski presiding. VISITATION will be 6-8PM Sunday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the ROSARY prayed at 7:30PM. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
