Mrs. Ramona S. (Spencer) Wirtz's Obituary
Mrs. Ramona S. (Spencer) Wirtz, age 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday evening, September 16, 2007, in Muskegon. She was born at home in "Pinchtown" a Lakeside neighborhood in Muskegon on October 19, 1914, to John W. and Sarah (Cunningham) Spencer. Mrs. Wirtz was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and had attended other local parishes. On July 15, 1931, she obtained a beauty school license from Mrs. W. H. Mondey at the Vanity Beauty Culture School of Muskegon. Mrs. Wirtz had lived at the Hume Home for the past 5 years where she made many friends and loved all the staff. She enjoyed the many activities at the Hume Home including the music and bingo. On June 2, 1934, she married Albin L. Wirtz and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1998. She is survived by 2 children, Sally A. (Wirtz) and Michael Hanslits, Portland, OR, and James A. and Ann M. (Kruska) Wirtz, Muskegon; 8 grandchildren, Drs. Michael Hanslits and Cindy Harper, Salem, OR, Jean Hanslits, Beaverton, OR, Lawrence and Laurie Hanslits, Florence, OR, Mary Lee (Hanslits) and Drew Davis, Keizer, OR, Frank and Jane (Wirtz) Marciniak, Ferrysburg, MI, Michael and JoAnne (Wirtz) Ryan, Wellington, FL and Edward and Laura (Wirtz) Shields, Muskegon and 14 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces, Marion Dausey, Whitehall and Barbara Fallon, Bay City, MI. The FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00AM Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. VISITATION will be from 5-8PM this evening at
