I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. I remember walking with my mom to her shop when I was a little girl. She was the first professional beautician to "do" my hair. Vertie had such tenacity in providing for her family! She was our beautician for years, in fact, she came to the church the day I was married (almost 42 years ago) to do my hair. We considered her a very good friend of our family.

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I have fond memories of going with my Mom, Mary when I was little to get her hair done. Mom loved Vertie as her hairdresser and a friend. Later, I was fortunate enough to also have my hair done by Vertie as well as Kathy. Thank you for such great memories of a wonderful woman. We were just in Muskegon this past weekend and actually mentioned Vertie in our memories.
