Mrs. Violet Marie “Vi” Gundy, age 89, passed away Monday morning, July 16, 2007 at her home in Norton Shores. She was born on November 19, 1917 in Botna, IA to Ernest and Edna (Bunch) Meyer and had been a resident of the Muskegon Read Obituary
"Vi" and I have been friends since she came to Muskegon. We graduated from Muskegon High School in 1936. Those were our "care free" days. Many fond menories. Bambi, you have my symphathy. We'll miss "Vi".##imported-begin##Florence H. Seng##imported-end##
Our family felt such a loss when we heard of Vi's passing. We have been next door neighbors of Ken & Vi's since 1993. We couldn't ask for better neighbors. Ken and Vi were generous, loving and caring folks always willing to lend a hand, a tool, a story, whatever was needed.
I think of Ken every time I pick up sticks in the yard and I joke when big branches fall out of our trees that Ken is up there throwing them down. I will always continue to think of Vi when I mow the lawn, as she once told me "you're ruining the neighborhood, that's men's work", I laughed and said "but Vi, it's such good exercise."
They loved their family, that was evident by all the family gatherings that were hosted at their home. These two will be remembered for years to come, in loving stories shared by family and friends. I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family. We can appreciate the fact that to lose a loved one in death makes us feel helpless and empty.
