Mr. Walter Earl Campbell's Obituary
Mr. Walter Earl Campbell, age 88, passed away early Sunday morning, August 28, 2011 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. Walter was born April 5, 1923 in Muskegon to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Ross) Campbell. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. On February 15, 1947 Walt married the former Louise Mundt in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1992. He had worked for Certified Concrete as a truck driver for 27 years prior to retirement. Walt was a member of the Muskegon Heights Eagles and a big Detroit sports fan. He also enjoyed bowling, traveling, and spending time with his family. Walter is survived by 5 children, David (Stephanie) Campbell, Daniel (Carla) Campbell, Alice (Brian) Johnson, Melissa (Tom) Tretheway all of Muskegon, and Pamela Cooper of Grand Rapids; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Kenneth (Katherine) Campbell of Muskegon and Eugene (Barbara) Campbell of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Walter was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating and Full Military Rites afforded under the Auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service (10-11AM). In lieu of flowers, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Brookhaven Medical Care Facility Activity Fund.
