Mr. William E. "Bill" Hall, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William E. Hall, Sr., age 82, died Monday, June 19, 2006 in Muskegon. He was born January 4, 1924 in Grand Traverse, MI to Rayon and Amelia “Emma” (Smith) Hall, and had resided in the Muskegon area since 1946. Mr. Hall was a Veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served as church trustee for many years and as custodian. He also belonged to the Jaycee’s, was past secretary of the Builder’s Association, the Hesperia American Legion, and Union Local 100 Carpenters. Mr. Hall was the owner of William E. Hall Building Contractor for 20 years and was then employed by H. VanDonkelaar’s Construction before retiring in 1981. He loved fishing on Campbell Lake, and enjoyed gardening and yard work. On November 7, 1947 he married the former Joanne M. Corey, and she survives him along with 2 children, William (Janice) Hall, Jr. of Norton Shores, and Sharon Hall of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren, Brian Hall and fiancée, Anne Bodnovich, Justin Hall, Jillian Glieden, and James Glieden; 2 brothers, Frank (Esther) Hall and Robert (Jamie) Hall both of Traverse City, MI; sister, Lillian Grove of Flint, MI, and sister-in-law, Maureen (James) Guthrie of Muskegon; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda Glieden; and 4 brothers, Harold, Harry, Charles, and Richard. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 1PM Friday, June 23, 2006 at First Baptist Church (1070 S. Quarterline Rd.) with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
