Ms. Ann Marie Kuharevicz's Obituary
Our beloved Ann Marie passed from this life on September 18, 2011, 10 days before her 49th birthday, of complications from a rare, aggressive, variant form of MS. She was born on September 28, 1962, in Muskegon to Robert and Phyllis (Kufta) Kuharevicz, the fifth of six siblings and the youngest daughter. Ann Marie graduated from Mona Shores High School and Eastern Michigan University. She was less than two months shy of finishing her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona this spring when her illness made her unable to continue. Besides her mother, her survivors include her five siblings: Jean (Fritz) Hayes of Tacoma, WA; Linda (Peter) Beck, of Hillsdale, MI; Nancy Kuharevicz of Ann Arbor, MI; and Joseph and Michael Kuharevicz of Muskegon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Zackary and Lauren Beck, and Patrick and Kali Kuharevicz; close cousins Laurie Burch, Pat Kuharevicz, and Susan Morin; and special friends Claudia Bowne, Ruta Misiunas, Jenny Kern, and Ken Johnson. Her dad, whom she admired and adored, predeceased her in June 2010. Ann Marie loved the beach at Lake Michigan but loved the sun even more, having lived in the Phoenix area for more than 20 years. She had been looking forward to beginning her second career in pharmacy research. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Hackley Hospital, the Mayo Clinic, Roosevelt Park Nursing & Rehabilitation, and Sister Agnes Mary. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix, Great Lakes Hospice, or the Mayo Clinic. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth St.) with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown as presider. Entombment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements by The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd 1-231-759-8565.
