MSG Frederick G. Frickman's Obituary
MSG Frederick Gorham Frickman, age 89, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. He was born in Grand Haven to Louis and Arlintha (Gorham) Frickman on June 17, 1935, graduating from Grand Haven High School. He married the former Barbara Kilpatrick, and they spent 53 wonderful years building a family together until she preceded him in death in 2012. Frederick proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years before retiring in 1975. He did three tours in Vietnam, and afterwards their family was stationed many different locations over the years, their favorite being Okinawa, Japan. In his younger years Frederick loved camping, but more recently he enjoyed sailing, kayaking, playing chess, and teaching himself Mandarin. He had a dry sense of humor and he loved performing magic tricks for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frederick will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Allison (AJ) Wortelboer, Edith (Bruce) Hansen, Wendy Boyer, and Lou (Jenn) Frickman; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Arlintha Frickman; wife, Barbara Frickman; and two siblings: Mary (Michael) Kuzma and Steve Frickman.
GRAVESIDE MILITARY HONORS will be held for Frederick at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Lake Forest Cemetery, 1304 Lake Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
