Mrs. Muriel E. Chester's Obituary
Muriel “Midge” E. Chester, age 82, passed away Sunday morning, September 3, 2017 at her home in Twin Lake. She was born December 9, 1934 to George and Geraldine Green in Traverse City. She was a lifelong resident of West Michigan, residing in Twin Lake most of her life. Midge enjoyed camping, reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family. On June 21, 1951 she married the love of her life, Robert W. Chester. They were married for 60 years until his passing in 2011. Midge is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Danny) Younts of Twin Lake and Rita (Don) Shanty of Twin Lake; grandchildren Kimberly (Daniel) Hekkema, Karla (Thomas) Buchan, Karmen (Timothy) Wiseman, Lee Younts, Ashley Younts, Chuck (Gina) Younts, Christopher Younts, Duane (Amanda) Heck, Robert Eklund, and Brandon (Melissa) Eklund; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; and five sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and three brothers. Services will be held at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, with Pastor Don Benedict officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and Thursday, September 7 from 12:00-1:00 P.M. with the funeral immediately following at 1:00 P.M.
